Title: The Emotional Side of New Parenthood
From: 11:00am Wednesday, April 22, 2026
To: 11:30am Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Library: Feasterville
Categories: Adults
Description:

Please join us even if you are not in current need of this information personally because there are many new parents you know who will.

This is how you can help.

Drop in for a brief discussion about the emotional side of new parenthood at 11am in the meeting room. Then share this information with pregnant women and new moms you know personally.

Break the stigma that prevents many women from getting support. Psychosis is rare; perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are not. They can affect women WHILE they are pregnant and/or after delivery. Anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD are significantly increasing and common with pregnant women and new moms. Postpartum baby blues can last 2-3 days for up to 2 weeks, with anything persisting longer signaling a possible mood or anxiety disorder. Baby blues alone affect up to 80% of new moms. Even support during this shorter period can make a world of difference.

Presented by the Postpartum Recovery Center
