Big changes are coming! The library secures two grants to improve our facility.

We are very excited to announce that our library secured TWO grants that will help us make much needed updates to our building and better serve the needs of our community.  2026 is definitely going to be a very busy year!

At the end of 2025, we learned that we qualified for a grant to replace our rooftop HVAC units at the library.  This is fantastic news for the patrons who rely on us to provide a comfortable, climate-controlled space throughout the heat of the summer and the cold of the winter.  This grant will help make sure that the library’s budget goes toward books, materials, and other services for our patrons, instead of expensive HVAC repairs and high energy bills.  Updating our twenty-year old units with modern equipment means more reliability, more efficiency, and more sustainability–all good things for the library’s budget, for our patrons, and for our future.

But there’s more! In April, we recieved the amazing news that we secured a grant to help renovate and update our children’s area.  After 20 years of steady use, our library’s children’s area desperately needs a refresh.  We also know that the needs of families who regularly visit our library–as well as the community in general–have changed since our library first opened in 2004.  Finally, our teens also deserve to finally have a space in the library they can call their own.

We first started planning this renovation project in 2022, with the intent to honor and remember Joan Bowman, a former Bucks County children’s librarian who was a dedicated member of our Library Board for many years.  Joan was a strong believer in the power of libraries to help our communities.  With the help of our annual appeal donors, our Friends group, and other community groups, we collected necessary matching funds and successfully applied for a state grant through the Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities.  We are very excited to get this project moving, and we can’t wait for the day when we can welcome you all into the new Joan Bowman Children’s Room.

Big changes are coming for our library!  We are so grateful to all the people who helped us prepare for these important projects, and who support us in small, regular ways everyday.  We are very fortunate to be part of a community that values its library.

More to come!  I am looking forward to sharing updates on the progress of both projects–check back later!
