We are very sad to report the passing of Dr. Gary Bowman.  Dr. Bowman and his late wife, Joan Bowman, both spent several years as members of our Library Board of Trustees, with Dr. Bowman serving as president of the Board for some time.  Dr. and Mrs. Bowman were both strong supporters of the library, and shared their time and their knowledge with us for many years.

Everyone here at the library will miss Dr. Bowman very much–it was obvious how much he cared about the library, its staff, and its patrons.  His dedication to the community and to the institutions that serve it was undeniable.  Dr. Bowman continued to serve on the board and attend meetings until the end of 2023.  In addition to spearheading efforts to update the library’s strategic plan, Dr. Bowman was instrumental in helping with our ongoing project to renovate the children’s room and rededicate it as the Joan Bowman Children’s Room.
